Mettrum Health Corporation, who is one of the first licensed producers of medicinal cannabis in Canada, were looking to establish themselves as the technology leader in their industry. Mettrum wanted to develop and design a digital strategy that made their business more efficient, by creating tools that integrated with existing ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) and CRM (Customer Relationship Management). Mettrum presented a series of challenges and unique hurdles to the Hifyre team.

Challenge

With Health Canada legalizing the production and distribution of medical marijuana, Hifyre knew this project would involve time sensitive components in order to establish Mettrum’s place as an industry leader. Conforming to complex and limiting Health Canada regulations, Hifyre designed and developed a online portal for Mettrum’s clients, physician and customer service representatives. The legalities presented by the Canadian government concerning signing legal documents online and storing personal client data proved to be challenging at times. Ultimately the team at Hifyre enjoyed the opportunity of navigating and developing creative solutions within the limitations presented.

Strategy

Hifyre developed and created a portal for Mettrum where clients & physicians could easily register, submit prescriptions and purchase their marijuana. The registration to approval process initially took one week to on-board a customer through lengthy in-office doctor visits and paperwork. After Hifyre developed the patient/physician portal, it now takes only hours for customer account activation. This has drastically Increased Mettrum’s customer acquisition. The portal also allows customers and physicians to log in and access their order history and product engagement online. Hifyre also created custom CSR tools to help Mettrum efficiently manage their clients, gain insights into trends, manage inventory and record customer communications.

Result

As a result of Hifyre’s participation in developing internal business systems, integrating with existing ERP and CRM systems, building an online store, and creating customer acquisition tools, Mettrum is one of the fastest growing licensed medicinal cannabis producers in Canada. Their customer growth exceeded production capacity in the first 4 months, and customer sign up timelines went from a week to hours. Also, customer service representative hours decreased by 70%, and customer application processes increased overall customer satisfaction.
